May 15/2003 (8:23 AM) ~ posted by Sean Mark Morford sums it all up, in SF Gate:"Turns out it really was all a big joke after all. The war, that is. All a big fat nasty murderous oil-licking lie, a sneaky little power-mad game with you as the sucker and the world as the pawn and BushCo as the slithery war thug, the dungeon master, the prison daddy. You really have to laugh. Because it's just so wonderfully ridiculous. In a rather disgusting, soul-draining sort of way.
See, there are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. No WMDs at all. Isn't that great? What's more: There never were. Ha-ha-ha. Gotcha!"
May 7/2003 (8:40 AM) ~ posted by Sean So despite what I promised, it looks like there will be no Bedtime Stories this week; Ro emailed me to tell me that she's been poisoned.
May 5/2003 (9:31 PM) ~ posted by Sean Though we've been overwhelmed with a Grateful Dead frenzy, fear not! Our other columnists will be clearing some space from under the tie-dyed madness any day now. Dan Haun (Blank) would have done it, but there's this issue of tornados in the southern United States... From the man himself:
As you may have seen on the news, my neck of the woods is on the receiving end of a nasty pummeling by Ma Nature. The evil bitch. Anyway, we've gotten pounded by thunderstorms and torrential rains for the past couple of days, and the forecast is for more of the same. The electricity has already become unreliable. ... [B]arring a miracle or other sudden turn of fortune in the weather, I'm afraid you won't be seeing much of or getting much from me until sometime next week. ... I'm not lazy- only wet. Having had the enormous joy of meeting the lovely Dan in person, several weeks ago, I can attest to the fact that no puny hurricane coulda brought the fella down; this meteorology thing must be pretty serious.
Feel free to send the man words of support - or sandbags, or something. In the mean time, look out for the rest of your regular tangmonkey offerings - Bedtime Stories and Waiting with Nathan, at least.
Oh, and TM Books? Julian's at Boot Camp. I'm not kidding.
