iMac Hats!I'm sick, and it's horribly unfair.

Well I suppose 'unfair' isn't the right word, but the 'right word' involves a whole lot of profanity and not a little bit of blasphemy.

Two weeks ago, I was feeling fine. Then - oof! poof! - I was struck down with an awful flu. I lay in bed for almost three days, sick as a dog. I was cared for by a most lovely individual, and eventually I found myself well enough to go on an excursion into town. En route, in a horrible bout of cruel irony, the chilling Montreal wind launched me into a coughing fit (ho hum), and during the course of the coughing fit, I managed to throw my back out. Add another day of lying in bed.

But then - Callooh! Callay! - I was better. I laughed and sang and enjoyed the better things in life.

And then, on Saturday night, the concert I was at came to a close, and I was suddenly overcome with a swooning, trembling, horrible fever. It took me forever to get home, and when I did so, I all but collapsed into bed.

Yes, that's right, flu strain #2 hit Sean between the eyes, and he has yet to recover.

Needless to say, I'm grumpy and sniffly and altogether horrible to be around. On the bright side, I'm the proud owner of a Belle and Sebastian ticket, and (if all goes well), I'll be spending next week in New York City.

In any case, if you (like me) need something to pass the time, here are a few hour-wasters courtesy of Sean's internet foraging. (And do remember to check our new, regularly updated "Link" feature, listed above.)

Some people have no trouble with Don's Amazing Puzzle. For me, however, it took fifteen minutes of utter frustration followed by the desperate application of Internet Explorer's "Find..." function. If you figure it out at once, you're smarter than me.

Bored of your clock? The Human Clock presents each minute by way of a photograph... It's international, and also wonderful. On the other side of the coin, there's Yugo Nakamura's stylish, artsy, Flash clock. I can just stare at it for hours...

Finally, buy yourself some sandals that truly make a difference... and while you're at it, say hello to Alkulukuja Paskova Karhu, a most gifted, mathematical bear.

Hey, I hope everyone had a good Valentine's day, I sure did. Emily and I watched Casablanca at the Bloor Cinema and then went to a nice restaurant called Southern Accent near Honest Ed's here in TO. The meal was amazing (though Emily's selection was tastier than mine, damn her!) but what impressed me more was the building and the decor. The restaurant is located in this really neat old house so the dinning area is broken into all these cozy little rooms, plus there was really neato art on the walls and the atmosphere in general was really relaxed and cool. It reminded me of the kinda place I'd like to open someday, only my place will be cheaper and trashier :)

Site news: I added a "link" bullet to the "newest" section above, we'll try to update that as often as possible, daily if we remember. We'll just use that space to showcase neat sites that we like. You can see the archive of all the links posted to date by clicking the word "link" or the link icon. If you've got any links you think are worthy just email them to me or Sean.

Remember when I posted that stuff about the Crankenstein show at Bumpers? I meant the Underground.

For all Tangmonkey fans in the Ottawa area, there will be a Crankenstein show at The Underground on Saturday, the 9th. Available at the venue will be Crankenstein t-shirts and pins, and all proceeds are going towards Tangmonkey, in a general sort of way. The door is about $5, a dollar off if you bring me a box of Kraft dinner, preferable "Sharp Cheddar". Featured at the show will be new Crankenstein guitarist Christ, who will be doing leads now that Mephisto Schreck is too lazy to solo.

And for all of you who've been emailing me about the lack of PULP this month, I'm happy to let you know that it will be coming out within the next week. Unfortunately, since I've been rather severely under the weather and show no signs of recovering, it won't be any good, so nuts to you. Get well cards can be sent to pulp@tangmonkey.com. Now if you'll excuse me, Teletoon After Dark is on.
