Column Archive

Introduction

"Dan Beirne and Nathan Lane have been friends for a while now. Ever since Nora and I became friends with the Lanes, Nathan and Dan have hit it off. Now Nathan comes over every Wednesday to the house to watch a movie, or just chat with Dan. Dan found these little chats so interesting, he decided to tape-record them and tell the world all the neat things Nathan had to say about movies and stuff. But after trying to edit the tapes down to cut out the boring parts, Dan found that a one-sided conversation isn't much good to anyone. He transcribes the tapes verbatim now. What you read is exactly Nathan's and his conversation. Well, I hope you enjoy them."

Dan Beirne

"Dan lives with us here in Montreal. He's always been a great boy and is sometimes smarter than me, even. I'm really happy he's doing this little column, because otherwise, he wouldn't really be doing much with his time. I'm very proud of Dan, we both are, and I wish him all the best with this column, and his little troupe, and his little movies. You should write to him to tell him you like it, if you do. "

Nathan Lane

"Nathan Lane was born Joseph Lane on February 3, 1956 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He debuted in the 1987 film Ironweed. He became very popular for his role in the Birdcage opposite Robin Williams. His next role showed off more of his comedic skill in Mousehunt. He has performed on Broadway many times in shows like A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Guys And Dolls, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Moon Over Miami, and most recently with Matthew Broderick in The Producers."
